Since its inception in 2002, the Taiwan International Design Competition has become one of the most prestigious and authoritative design competitions in Asia. In order to further trigger creativity of young students, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has cooperated with the Ministry of Education in the planning of an expansion of the competition scope since 2008.

Taiwan International Design Competition is not only a futuristic design competition open to designers and young talents worldwide, but also aimed at encouraging design interactions and international cultural exchanges. Incorporating with the essence of oriental philosophy, the theme of the competition is in response to the contemporary design phenomenon and global issues. For the 2009 event, we invite competition entries under the theme "Restore". Restore is used to reconstruct and renew; it is the expectation of returning to a prosperous life.

Let design become an action and a measure that restores a good life, and create new opportunities through creativity.
